One night, at my Bloor West Village apartment, I had a couple of friends over for – what else?! – a couple of beers. As their host, I was treating them to a bottle-fermented beer from my favourite Quebec brewery. And, as any other red-blooded, beer-loving man would do, I schooled them.
While serving the beer that night, I showed them how to pour fermented brew and explained why it’s different from pouring a regular beer. They were also schooled on why the beer in the glass was hazy (unlike the beers they usually drink), and on the important difference between ales and lagers. Once I shut up and finally let them taste the heavenly beer, they suggested I share my devoted passion with the masses through a blog. And that is how BrewBlog started…
